From a spatial concept to buildable information
Concept design defines the experience and intent. Design development resolves dimensions, materials, construction details and discipline interfaces. Z-GROUP coordinates this work with procurement and site planning so open questions can be reviewed before implementation.

Brief and interfaces
Review the client brief, brand standards, existing drawings and site conditions. Record open design, MEP, structural and operational interfaces.

Coordination and detailing
Coordinate dimensions, MEP positions, maintenance access and construction details, with drawings for critical junctions and finishes.

Materials and mock-ups
Review materials against procurement lead times, cost and site conditions. Check appearance and buildability with material or full-scale mock-ups.

Documentation and site support
Issue drawings through the agreed review process, track site feedback and changes, and maintain a record for handover.

What is the difference between concept design and detailed design?
Concept design addresses spatial experience, style, and brand expression; detailed design translates the concept into constructible drawings, materials, nodes, and MEP coordination plans. Z-GROUP possesses both capabilities and coordinates them within the same delivery chain to reduce the loss of design intent during implementation.
Can Z-GROUP provide integrated design and construction (EPC) services?
Yes. Z-GROUP has integrated design and construction capabilities. For example, the Fujian Pingtan Ocean International Convention Center project was managed under a 144,000 sqm interior EPC model, coordinating both design and construction. The service chain covers six stages: brand understanding, concept design, detailed design, material mock-ups, engineering implementation, and delivery & operation.

Z-GROUP Cloud is the digital material and supply chain collaboration platform of Z-GROUP. Through material technical services and supply chain collaboration, it makes project quality, cost, and schedule more controllable.
How can Z-GROUP participate when brand standards and a design consultant are already in place?
Depending on the commission, Z-GROUP can undertake design development, material mock-ups, trade coordination and construction. Agree review and approval responsibilities among the owner, operator, original designer and trades. The contractor cannot unilaterally replace brand approval. Drawing deliverables, procurement and site support are defined in the contract.
